What is the name of your organization?

Michele Johnsen: Ignite Global Good/ Center for Media Literacy.

Why the focus on international affairs?

Michele Johnsen: My focus is on applying media literacy as one way to empower global citizens in a world of super-powered disinformation, as well as media literacy as a foundational skill for 21st century democracy.

What are you working on these days?

Michele Johnsen: A US State Department grant to make people across the globe aware of Center for Media Literacy’s free, 90 minute, self-guided course on the foundations of media literacy.

What made you join the Pacific Council?

Michele Johnsen: A desire to stay connected and involved in international affairs.

What’s your biggest takeaway?

Michele Johnsen: It’s really a privilege to have access to the high level of speakers and guest that Pacific Council hosts.
