What is the name of your organization?
Edward Mracek: Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties.
Why the focus on international affairs?
Edward Mracek: I grew up in a multi-lingual immigrant academic household and studied Political Science / International Relations at UCLA. Having lived abroad in Europe as a teen, I developed an early world view and fascination for other cultures.
What are you working on these days?
Edward Mracek: I am active member of San Diego Rotary Club 33 and donate my time, talent and treasure in the arts, music and health sciences arenas.
What made you join the Pacific Council?
Edward Mracek: I attended a guest event in 2006 on the emerging economies of India and China.
What’s your biggest takeaway?
Edward Mracek: We are all Citizens of the The World.
Do you recall any particular quotes or stories from any Pacific Council events you attended?
Edward Mracek: From our late founding father, Warren Christopher, at a past Members weekend at Shutters, "I hope you have all been illuminated." Secretary of State John Kerry's address on the necessity for TPP and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's book talk were phenomenal.
