What is the name of your organization?

Lucy Santora: Simon Everett.

Why the focus on international affairs?

Lucy Santora: Our projects reflect the Pacific Council on International Policy local-to-global mission. We connect local partners in the United States with clients abroad to expand economic development in ICT and cybersecurity..

What are you working on these days?

Lucy Santora: Currently working on multiple economic development projects partnering US exporters with entities in Africa as well as a statewide cybersecurity ecosystem analysis in South Carolina.

What made you join the Pacific Council?

Lucy Santora: I was a Junior Fellow at the Pacific Council on International Policy while completing my Masters of Public Diplomacy at USC. I absolutely loved the team and seeing first hand how impactful the events and work they do is made me want to continue to be part of the Pacific Council.

What’s your biggest takeaway?

Lucy Santora: The West Coast, specifically Los Angeles, is often considered secondary to DC in terms of international affairs. In reality, it is the incubator for the most innovative methods in connecting cultures and economies. Los Angeles also has the advantage of less red tape and more people to people focused diplomacy measures. The Pacific Council guides this entire process as they build trust and understanding between their global partners and members.
