What is the name of your organization?

Amanda Matti: Matti Group, Inc..

What is the focus of your professional work?

Amanda Matti: SIV advocacy and refugee/SIV resettlement.

Why the focus on international affairs?

Amanda Matti: I am an Iraq War veteran and have spent the last 17 years advocating for our wartime allies who have fought beside us in multiple wars.

What are you working on these days?

Amanda Matti: Currently a member of the Evacuate Our Allies Operations Center - We assist with providing safe passage of US Citizens and Afghan allies from Afghanistan.

What made you join the Pacific Council?

Amanda Matti: I have known Steve Miska for many years and have done multiple events, conferences with him. He invited me to assist with the EOA Ops Center in August 2021 which was being run out of the Pacific Council on International Policy offices in L.A.

What’s your biggest takeaway?

Amanda Matti: I greatly appreciate how the Pacific Council always seems to be at the forefront and actively involved in contributing to and inflicting positive change in global crises that uniquely affect U.S. veterans.

Do you recall any particular quotes or stories from any Pacific Council events you attended?

Amanda Matti: At one of the Policy West conferences, there was a panel about "Protecting Soft Networks" in warzones that was extremely impactful.
